Why Doesn't The Media Reveal To The Public How Bad The Immigration Bill From The Senate Really IS?

The media except for some reporters like Lou Dobbs do not reveal to the public the contents of the immigration bill that the senate passed, many viewers do not know that this bill requires the mexican government to agree for us to build a fence in our own border, this bill also will give illegals credit for money they put on stolen social security numbers,is our media catering to illegals for future ratings instead of reporting the news which is their job

Why Doesn't The Media Reveal To The Public How Bad The Immigration Bill From The Senate Really IS?
Some one was right=most of the Media is bought and paid for. And they do not step on their own funds. Sad but true. It happen in 60s very bad (like today) and many started underground newspapers-but even they became corrupt. Now you can not trust Newspapers or TV or magazines.
Reply:Now this is the million dollar question. I would suggest that each of us contact our local news (TV and Radio stations) and ask them! I love Lou! I would vote for Lou for President!!
Reply:No ratings in it. Enlightenment sounds like Carl Marx.
Reply:Because the media is 86% liberal based on their own studies and are over-whelmingly in support of free, open borders and giving amnesty to anyone who is illegally in our country. They think the immigration bill is fantastic and if you disagree with them on this issue, you are a biggot (according to them).
Reply:The media I listen to is. FOXNEWS
Reply:Just how bad is the bill?

Team America Research Director Marcus Epstein breaks it down Here

Reply:Apparently and unfortunately we only have a one-sided media. A lot of false info implied and provided by the media...
Reply:The one thing that pisses me off the most (and that whole bill pisses me off, minus the increased border security) is that they are not going to prosecute people who faked social security numbers. And exactly HOW are they going to give these people credit for money they applied against an account that wasn't theirs? If I (or a LEGAL immigrant) faked my SS info, they'd take me to court. So, isn't this blatant FAVORITISM for ILLEGAL aliens?
Reply:I agree with (nighthawk) it's the liberal media and if you disagree your called every name in the book, but they are aloud to disagree with you, and if you call them a name then your mean spirited.
Reply:Most of the media is highly liberal and the liberals are highly in favor of illegal immigrants.
Reply:what does it matter ? no one hears the American Citizens Voices, that is unless they are wealthy
Reply:Because the most of the media are left wing liberals.
Reply:Because they're still worried about who fired the shot from the grassy knoll, and is Elvis really in a Burger King in Michigan!
Reply:The initial immigrant rights protests put HR 4437 on life support, the latest bipartisan effort is to transplant its vital organs into a new body. In other words, while the mainstream of the Republican Party has had to distance itself from its far-right wing over the right’s opposition to a guest-worker program, both they and the Democrats have surged to the right themselves on the question of criminalization, adding reactionary clauses to the “compromise” designed to attract the right’s reluctant support. The protests that stopped the Sensenbrenner bill showed that immigrant workers already in the U.S. are ready to fight back. This has led to a reorientation of anti-immigrant politics to take aim at the border and potential “future crossers". Commentators describe the right-wing tilt of the Hagel-Martinez legislation as a “backlash” against the immigrant rights protests. But in reality, the new mass movement taking shape in the streets is a backlash against a decades-long war on working people.

this is what they do not want you people to think about...
Reply:They don't mention the 10 year statute of limitations creating a 'rolling amnesty' forever, either, or the family reunification allowance which means the numbers the press discusses are only the tips of the ice berg.

I literally think some of them don't read it. Over and over I see there is a new allotment of 200,000 unskilled visas per year, and no one mentions the additional 1.5 million per year for farm workers (as well as ignoring the family reunification multiplier.)

Others want it for their own reasons. Some of them probably don't think it thru.

They are certainly ignoring a lot of the bad parts. However, I mostly blame it on the Congressmen. For example they put on a huge show of slicing amnesty numbers into thirds, each handled differently, while slipping the 'statute of limitations of 10 years' for border crossings into the bill. The s/l treats this as if the damage ended, instead of just began, when the illegal immigrant passed the border.

This never came up in any debate I saw, and the press reports what it hears and what it is interested in. Statutes of limitations are dry stuff.

Enlightenment, are you one of those leftist agitators that walked the poor illegal immigrants into a fan blade so they could say they led a 'movement'? Because those are real people paying for that monumental stupidity on May 1, and if you were in any way connected with that you should be ashamed of yourself.

I am against illegal immigration, because it degrades schools for my own children. However, I am not cruel, and the leftist agitators who took those marchers for a ride on May 1 and earlier were callous and calculating.

Also, you are either massively deluded or lying about the state of the Bill. Try Yahoo Immigration - Full Coverage.
Reply:It's a catch 22.

They create what people are interested in and then only show "what people are interested in." Confused? Good.

Basically, the media makes the news. They pick and chose over ALL the things that are going on and select those which will promote their ratings and their agendas.

Telling us exactly what is in the bills that Congress passes is not helpful to them - they need an ignorant audience. SO they tell you tidbits so that you think you know and then move on to the sensationalized stuff.

Their job hasn't been to report the news since Woodward %26amp; Bernstein. Now it is to make more and more money for their paper or television station.

SORRY.
Reply:BECAUSE WE ARE ALL ROBOTS ANYWAYS
Reply:That was part of Bush's plan all along. This country is divided 50/50.

What a wonderful sign, a new Berlin Wall, that is going to cost taxpayers 2 Billion and someone will get Rich.

I mean we spent $250,000 looking for Jimmy Hoffa to take our minds od of immigration and Iraq.
Reply:the media thinks it is a good bill. the media is just a bunch of people who's only education was: think with your heart not your mind...
