Has everybody including the social services forgotten about the McCanns other children?

These kids are being left with parents that by their own admission left their children "unattended". This is without referring to the mass of evidence the Police have against them, as suspects in a murder investigation. Plus they have been forced into a media bubble not of their making. The trauma of this will probably never leave them. It appears that the social services are not acting as action would create controversy because the media has hyped the McCanns up to be infallible.

Has everybody including the social services forgotten about the McCanns other children?
I am sure social services are addressing issues, this would not be public knowledge, confidentiality laws prevent this . . .

i hope they are with another family member as there welfare is important.

if the claims are unfounded then fair play but as they know the children were left it is their duty to protect them

Reply:Personally i think the twins should be removed from their care, until this mess is cleared up. I think the McCann's are at fault. They should never have left the kids alone to begin with. Their story is not convincing %26amp; they are trying to hard at being sincere. Their family is doing what any family would do...they are protecting them...because thats what families do! There is definately some stuff that doesn't add up...and something with Maddie's mom...just isn't right.

Reply:Who says this is a murder investigation, as yet no body has been found and the evidence is minimal. How would you feel if it was your child that had gone missing and the world turned against you? I agree with rm dosser, if they are innocent do you realise the impact and trauma what you suggest would cause for them and the twins. Leave judgement to the correct authorities and keep your thoughts neutral. Show compassion as well as blame! For Maddie' s sake I hope they are innocent and she soon turns up unharmed.

Reply:well they have begun portraying to the world that they are 'loving parents'....taking the kids to the park...seen in public as a family. they're doing damage control.

From what I can see, Sean %26amp; Amelie are well nourished, clean and well kept children, who live (or lived) a priviledged lifestyle until the 3rd of May.





They seem happy, well adjusted and normal 2year olds to me.

Reply:I wondered this also.Most children are at least placed with other family members during a time of investigation so why have they not already been placed?( i do not know other countries procedures)


who was watching the kids during the time that they have been searching for her w news conferences etc?


Also,I would not leave my three yr old grandaughter alone for one minute she gets into everything!!so they have three kids and leave them alone to go eat dinner alone?how is this right?what were the kids fed?
Reply:Social Services are of course already involved regarding the two younger McCann children. Let's hope that common sense will prevail - nothing has been proved against either parent as yet. I am not pro or anti anybody - just appalled at this trial by internet, television and the press.





I am confused about Barbie's job. Is she a trainee/qualified Social Worker, criminologist or private investigator? Knowing many Social Workers through my own employment, I feel they would not voice so many opinions under the guise of professional knowledge. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.

Reply:A Portuguese lawyer friend of mine explained to me that since they have the case in Portugal, British police does not want to complicate the case. But I do hear that social services has been at their home everyday checking on the welfare of the children.
Reply:I think Social Services have already visited them. Now they have to compile a profile and make a plan.
Reply:Doctors do not get investigated by Social Services even if they are named as suspects, charged , convicted and imprisoned.





If the McCanns are charged Social Services will probably pop around to their house with a bunch of flowers and a botltle of bubbly!!
Reply:Oh my god! Don't I know! It is ridiculous! if that was you or me or any normal middle class person not only would we be jailed for being irresponsible parents, but we'd have the other two taken off us.


I'd love it if it was the mother who did it. I know that's mean to say but with all the fuss everybody has made over 'boo hoo Madeline McCann' it would serve her right!
